Sitting on the stairwell, a cup of tea in hand, I witnessed a sacred moment. Across the living room in various groupings, beautiful people shared lives, songs, and laughter.
Earlier that day we participated in the joining of two dear friends. With buttons freshly sewn, oranges sliced, and tears in our eyes we celebrated marriage, Cameron and Becca, the beginning of many adventures.
After the last cookie disappeared, lace and agates gathered, and goodbyes said, the group of us trickled to the house.
We prayed for discernment and drew prophetic pictures.
Forms of nourishment appeared: Chinese, hummus, carrots, m&ms. We joined in the sacrament of sharing meals.
Those unknown were quickly acquainted.
Warm lights, soothing guitar, voices, Nathan’s ever-bearing teapot, back rubs, hugs, coloring, sharing dreams, visioning together, smiling, laughing, living.
This is community. Raw, natural, beautiful.
A holy time.
